Caernarfon Castle inaugurating Prins Charles

The Crown 2016 - 15 locations

This is where the inauguration of Prince Charles was filmed. Unlike many other shooting locations, Caernarfon Castle has actually been the castle that hosted the inauguration of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales in 1969.

The castle was built in 1283 by King Edward I. Since 1911, Caernarfon Castle has seen the inauguration of a new Prince of Wales. Before that, it happened in London at the Palace of Westminster. The later Edward VIII was the first to come to Wales for this ceremony.
