The Crown 2016 - 15 locations

Windsor Castle played a major role in all seasons of The Crown.

From Season 4 onwards, the scenes were filmed at Burghley House in Lincolnshire.

Burghley is one of the largest and best-preserved houses of the sixteenth century. Designed by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1555 and 1587, Burghley is a testament to the ambition and vision of the most powerful courtier of the first Elizabethan era. The house and estate can be visited (https://www.burghley.co.uk/)

For seasons 1, 2 and 3, Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire was used to represent Windsor Castle.
