Old Railway Bridge

In Sex Education we regularly see Otis and Eric cycling or walking over a bridge. This is the Old Railway Bridge in the small village of Tintern and you can just walk across it if you are in the area. The bridge may not be very photogenic, but taking an Instagram photo at this location is of course a must!

The bridge was built in 1872 and was actually ready for use before the railway was finished. The bridge was designed to carry no more than a small locomotive and three trucks. The bridge closed in 1901, but the bridge continued to carry a horse tram until 1935, when it was finally closed and has been a footpath ever since.
